Fashion icon Nana Akua Addo has disclosed that financial incentives and hospitality provided by organisers are part of the reason she puts significant effort into her appearances at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Speaking on United Showbiz on Saturday, May 16, she disclosed that invited celebrities are paid to attend the event, with the amount depending on sponsorship arrangements and the duration of their stay.
According to her, invited guests also have their accommodation, airfare, and other expenses fully covered by the organisers.
“When AMVCA invites you, your accommodation and your tickets are covered, and they give out money, sometimes $2,000, other times $3,000, depending on sponsors. And that money is just for one day, so the number of days they want you to stay multiplies it,” she said.
She further explained that organisers ensure guests enjoy a comfortable experience throughout the event.
“They also put you in the best hotels decorated nicely, just for activation,” she added.
Nana Akua Addo said the treatment and hospitality she receives at the event make her feel appreciated and recognised.
“They make you feel important when you get there,” she stated.
She added that the overall experience is one of the key reasons she continues to invest heavily in her AMVCA red carpet appearances.
