Rapper and singer Kwesi Arthur has opened up about the crucial role Sarkodie played in supporting his early music career, describing the award-winning rapper as someone who consistently pushed his work to a wider audience.

Speaking in an interview with Kafui Dey, Kwesi Arthur disclosed that Sarkodie regularly shared his music online and publicly backed his craft even before they collaborated on a song together.

“Sarkodie has always been supportive of what I do,” he said. “I’ll link up with Sarkodie and he’ll tweet my links and all of that.”

The Tema-based musician explained that the connection with Sarkodie went beyond music, noting that both artistes share roots in Tema, something he believes made the relationship even more meaningful.

“We grew up listening to Sarkodie. That’s our guy from Tema,” he stated. “I’m from Tema Community 9, so it’s even deeper than just the Tema thing.”

Kwesi Arthur also acknowledged rapper M.anifest for supporting his journey, disclosing that the artiste once tweeted about him and helped place him on the Ghana Meets Naija stage during his early days in the industry.

According to the “Grind Day” hitmaker, Sarkodie’s feature on his breakthrough song significantly elevated the track and exposed it to a broader audience.

“At that time, the song was already doing wonders among people who were familiar with Kwesi Arthur, but Sarkodie elevated it,” he explained.

He added that M.anifest’s involvement on the remix further strengthened the song’s impact and helped solidify its standing within the Ghanaian music scene.

“So yeah, big ups to Sarkodie and M.anifest for doing that song with me. It really added something else to the great vibe that was already there,” he said.
