Okyeame Kwame has disclosed that a song by Black Sherif moved him to tears, describing the artiste as one of the musicians who excites him the most today.
Speaking on Orange FM in Kumasi on Monday, May 18, Okyeame Kwame shared his admiration for Black Sherif, saying the singer’s music connects with him on a deeper emotional level.
“The artiste who excites me the most now is Black Sherif. I like his stuff,” he said.
The rapper specifically pointed to Black Sherif’s song “So It Goes,” featuring Fireboy DML, revealing that his first listen left him emotional and made him cry.
“The first time I heard the song, I cried,” he disclosed.
According to him, he was in the studio recording his own music when producer Abochi played the track before they began working.
“I was in the studio recording my song. Before we started, Abochi played the song and the song touched me.”
Okyeame Kwame said the song had only been out for a few days at the time, but its message instantly resonated with him.
He recalled being deeply touched by the lyrics: “Don’t forget about me so soon. If you see the light, remember that I was with you.”
“Black Sherif’s stuff touches me differently,” he added.
