Funny Face has expressed heartfelt gratitude to his close friend and fellow actor, Kwaku Manu, for standing by him during one of the most difficult periods of his life.
In an interview with Headless YouTuber, Funny Face said Kweku Manu played a crucial role in helping him navigate his emotional struggles and understood his pain in ways many others could not.
According to him, Kwaku could relate to the emotional turmoil he was facing because he understood the bond between a father and his children.
“So, rolling with him was cool because he understands what I was going through,” Funny Face explained.
Funny Face further stated that Kwaku understood the “nitty-gritty” of the emotional breakdown he was experiencing and never judged him throughout the ordeal.
Recalling one of the most touching moments from that period, Funny Face disclosed that while he was receiving treatment at the Korle Bu Hospital, Kwaku Manu travelled to bring his daughters to see him.
“When I went to the Korle Bu Psychiatric Hospital, it was he [Kwaku Manu] who went to take my daughters and brought them from Kumasi so that I could see them,” he recounted.
He said that the singular act had a profound impact on him because Kweku understood the emotional pain of being away from one’s children.
The comedian’s comments shed more light on the support system that helped him through his public struggles with depression and mental health challenges.
