Filmmaker and preacher Pascal Amanfo has strongly criticised bloggers and social media users for circulating old prophecy videos following reports of actress Beverly Afaglo’s passing.
His reaction comes after an old video of Pastor Eric Boahen Uche, reportedly from March 22, resurfaced online.
In the video, the pastor allegedly spoke about an actress who could die soon, leading many social media users to connect the prophecy to Beverly’s reported death.
As conversations intensified online, Pascal Amanfo took to social media on Sunday, May 24, to express disappointment over the trend, describing it as insensitive and unnecessary, especially at a time when a family is grieving.
In a post shared on his Instagram page, he wrote, “To all the bloggers in Ghana who have already started posting videos of prophecies, can you stop this hydra-headed Pentecostal charismatic fame-craving and be human beings for once??? Stop the nonsense!!!!!”

He further criticised attempts to use such incidents to validate ministries and prophetic messages.
Pascal Amanfo also called attention to the emotional impact on Beverly’s loved ones, reminding the public that beyond social media discussions, a family is currently dealing with loss.
“2 precious kids are left behind!!! A family is hurting!!! Absolute insensitivity!!!!” he added.
His comments have sparked discussions online, with some social media users supporting his call for empathy, while others continue debating the role of prophecies and their place in public discourse following tragic events.
