Following the death of actress Beverly Afaglo, several celebrities, friends and colleagues within the movie industry have taken to social media to mourn her and share heartfelt tributes in honour of her life and legacy.

Beverly’s passing left many in shock, with stars recalling memories, expressing gratitude and reflecting on the impact she had on their lives and careers.

Actor and politician John Dumelo recounted how Beverly played a significant role in shaping his acting journey.

Sharing memories from nearly two decades ago, he disclosed that he first met Beverly on the set of ‘About to Wed’ in Dzorwulu alongside Prince David Osei and Yvonne Okyere.

According to him, Beverly later recommended him for a role that became a turning point in his career.

“Bev calls and says, ‘John, call Salam [movie producer], they need someone to play the role of a King.’ That’s how I got to star in the movie ‘King is Mine’ and the rest they say is history,” he wrote.

John added that Beverly’s contribution to his journey would never be forgotten.

“Thanks so much Bev for playing a significant role in my acting career. One day when I decide to write a book, your name will fill pages,” he said.

Actress Nadia Buari also shared an emotional reflection on life, kindness and loss. In her tribute, she urged people to be more compassionate and not take life for granted.

“We move through our days assuming there’s always more time… More time to say thank you. More time to check in,” she wrote.

She added that many people silently fight battles unknown to others and encouraged people to show genuine kindness because “none of us are promised tomorrow.”

Actress Roselyn Ngissah reacted with a short but emotional message, writing: “Hmmmmm… Beverly.”

Media personality Stacey Amoateng said she was struggling to process the news and reflected on Beverly’s fight.

“Speechless, shocked, upset. Your birthday is in a few days. You fought, soldier on and rest in power my dear friend,” she wrote.

Actor James Gardiner also poured out his emotions, expressing pain over Beverly’s passing while acknowledging the strength she showed throughout her health battle.

“I know you fought a strong battle till the end, but just know that I am proud of you,” he wrote.

He praised her entrepreneurial achievements and encouraged people to be kinder and check on loved ones.

“Everyone is fighting a battle… please be kind to people,” he added.

Actress Nikki Samonas also joined the tributes, writing: “Words alone cannot express how I feel. Rest well Bev.”

According to Beverly Afaglo’s manager, Abu Iddris, the actress passed away on Saturday, May 23, at about 11:45 p.m. after battling cancer for several years.

Meanwhile, management has announced details of her one week observation and invited sympathisers to join the family on Saturday, May 30, as loved ones gather to honour her memory.

As tributes continue to pour in, many fans and industry players are remembering Beverly not only for her work in film but also for the impact she made on the lives of people around her.
