Actor and comedian Jeffrey Nortey has disclosed that some people assume he uses drugs because of his popular “Dragon” character portrayed in his comedy skits.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime TV on Wednesday, May 27, Jeffrey shared a funny encounter he had while buying food, where a woman approached him and offered him a drink she believed would “cleanse his system.”
According to him, the woman was convinced he used drugs and thought the drink would help him detox.
“You know, people think I do drugs? Because of Dragon?” he said during the interview.
Narrating the incident, Jeffrey explained that the woman confidently approached him and recommended a drink she believed would help him.
“I went somewhere to buy food, and there was this woman who came. There’s this drink they call mash something, I don’t know the name of the drink. The lady walked to me and said, ‘Boss, this drink will cleanse your system.’”
Surprised by the comment, he asked her why she thought he needed cleansing.
“She said, ‘I have observed you, I know you do drugs.’ I’m like, what makes you think I do that? It’s just a character.”
Jeffrey expressed disbelief that some people struggle to separate his on-screen personality from real life.
The actor later added a humorous twist to the conversation, joking, “Charlie, the spirits inside me, I will not take alcohol.”
