Actor and content creator Jeffrey Nortey has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late actress, Beverly Afaglo, describing her death as a painful loss and a wake-up call for everyone to pay closer attention to cancer awareness.
Beverly Afaglo passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, after a battle with cancer.
She was 42.
Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeekend, an emotional Jeffrey Nortey said he was still struggling to come to terms with the actress’ passing.
“Charley, my mood all changed suddenly. I miss her. I miss her already. May her soul rest in peace,” he said.
According to him, Beverly’s death highlights the need for greater public education on cancer, its warning signs and preventive measures.
“It’s a wake-up call for all of us to know the effects, signs, symptoms or whatever that causes cancer,” he added.
Jeffrey also reflected on Beverly’s unwavering support for his career, recalling how she attended the maiden edition of his stage production, The 3 Faces of Jeffrey Nortey Show.
“My first show, The 3 Faces of Jeffrey Nortey Show, she graced the occasion. Yesterday, I was going through some pictures and I saw her picture. It’s sad that she can’t make it this year,” he said.
He described the late actress as a motivator who consistently encouraged others and celebrated their successes.
“She is a motivator. She is somebody who will push you. She will tap you on the back, and it’s sad,” he noted.
Ending his tribute with a prayer, Jeffrey said, “May God preserve us who are here until we all meet again.”
