Actress Roselyn Ngissah has paid a heartfelt tribute to her late friend Beverly Afaglo, describing her as a woman with one of the biggest hearts she had ever known.
Speaking during Beverly’s one-week vigil in Tema on Saturday, May 30, Roselyn reflected on the actress’ kindness, generosity and resilience in the face of public criticism.
“I knew a heart, and that heart was the biggest I’ve ever known. She gave love freely. She showed up for people,” she said.
The actress recalled a difficult period in Beverly’s life when she faced intense public scrutiny and criticism over matters many people did not fully understand.
“I’ll never forget when the world turned cruel for a moment, when they dragged your name through the mud and judged you for things they didn’t understand,” Roselyn stated.
According to her, Beverly refused to be broken by the criticism and instead confronted the situation with courage and dignity.
“But you didn’t hide. You stood up. You spoke. You defended yourself with the same grace and fire you had on stage,” she said.
Roselyn disclosed that Beverly’s response during that challenging period became one of the defining moments of her strength and character.
“You looked them in the eye and said, ‘Take it or leave it.’ That moment showed me your strength more than any award ever could,” she recounted.
For Roselyn, Beverly’s ability to rise above negativity and remain true to herself was a testament to her resilience.
“You didn’t just survive the moment. You answered it,” she added.
Her tribute was among several emotional messages shared by family, friends and colleagues during the vigil, as loved ones gathered to celebrate Beverly’s life and legacy.
The one-week observance attracted a host of personalities from Ghana’s entertainment industry, who came together to support the family and pay their respects ahead of her final funeral rites scheduled for August 7 at the Lashibi Funeral Home.
