Comic actor Opoku Bilson has opened up about his family’s emotional reaction to his first-ever trip to the United Kingdom.
Speaking in an interview with ZionFelix on Tuesday, June 2, Opoku Bilson disclosed that his mother broke down in tears after learning that he had safely arrived in London.
According to the actor, an old video in which he asked his mother to pray for him resurfaced online following his appearance at Dr Likee O2 Indigo Show in the UK. The video, recorded four years ago on his birthday, captured a heartfelt moment between him and his mother.
“I remember going to my mother on my birthday and asking her to pray for me. I told her that one day I would have a story to tell about that video,” he said.
Opoku Bilson explained that after his mother watched the video again and saw how far he had come, she became overwhelmed with emotion during a video call with him.
“My parents are proud of me. They are very happy. When my mother watched the video, she cried. There was a viral video of me carrying goods on my back, and another one where my mother was praying for me. By God’s grace, that dream has come true,” he recounted.
The comic actor also addressed claims that fellow actor Kyekyeku has been sidelined by Dr Likee following his rise within the comedy group.
Dismissing the rumours, Opoku Bilson insisted that there is no tension within the team.
“That is not true. We are all working together. In fact, we recently worked with Kyekyeku,” he stated.
