The 15th edition of the Ghana Movie Awards paid tribute to late actress Beverly Afaglo and Nigerian actor Alexx Ekubo, who both passed away this year.
The touching moment became one of the highlights of the glamorous awards night held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in the early hours of Monday, June 8.
Held under the theme “Rewarding African Excellence,” the event celebrated outstanding achievements in the Ghanaian and African film industries, bringing together some of the continent’s biggest movie stars and creatives.
Popular Ghanaian actors including James Gardiner, Clemento Suarez, Dr Likee and Juliet Ibrahim lit up the red carpet alongside Nigerian stars such as Deyemi Okanlawon.
Several actors and filmmakers also walked away with top honours on the night as the ceremony recognised excellence across different movie categories.
The event further highlighted the strong relationship between the Ghanaian and Nigerian movie industries, with appearances from celebrated stars including Jackie Appiah, Yvonne Nelson, Kwaku Manu and Daniel Etim Effiong.
The Ghana Movie Awards remains one of the biggest platforms dedicated to recognising and celebrating African cinematic excellence.
