Actor Big Akwes has publicly expressed his admiration for Florence Obinim, stating that he would be interested in pursuing a relationship with her should her marriage to Bishop Daniel Obinim come to an end.
Speaking in a video circulating on social media on June 15, 2026, Big Akwes criticised Bishop Obinim for publicly speaking negatively about Florence, arguing that such remarks could damage her reputation.
“If Obinim leaves Florence, I will accept her. He doesn’t know what he has and he’s busily disgracing her publicly. If he doesn’t love her anymore, he should say it so that Florence can be free.”
The actor further accused Bishop Obinim of attempting to tarnish his wife’s image, suggesting that such actions could discourage others from showing interest in her after a potential separation.
“Disgracing her and telling lies about her so that at the end of the day, when he leaves her, no one would go for her. I’m telling Obinim that if he makes the mistake and leaves his wife, I would go for her.”
Big Akwes disclosed that Florence Obinim has long been his crush, stressing that he has always admired her but respected the boundaries of her marriage.
“She has always been my crush and I admired her so much, but I didn’t know how to go about it. Whatever someone has, we don’t have to snatch it from the person with force. Since Florence Obinim is still his wife, I can’t go and tell her that I’m in love with her, but the day he divorces her, I will go for her.”
The actor also urged Bishop Obinim to handle any marital challenges privately and respectfully rather than publicly embarrassing his wife.
“He should end the marriage the mature way so that those who are interested can get the chance, but not embarrass her like that.”
