Gospel musician Florence Obinim has opened up about the ongoing challenges in her marriage to the founder of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, indicating that she is prepared to accept a divorce if that is what her husband wants.
Speaking in an interview with GhPage on YouTube on June 16, 2026, Florence disclosed that despite years of being patient, humble and supportive in the marriage, she feels her efforts have not been appreciated by the preacher.
According to her, she has done her best to maintain peace in the relationship but believes there is little more she can do if her husband is no longer interested in continuing the marriage.
“I have been humble and patient with Bishop, yet he still does not appreciate the kind of woman I am. May God’s will be done. If he is ready for a divorce, then I am ready too.”
Florence disclosed that about a month ago, she had a heartfelt conversation with Bishop Obinim about the state of their marriage and reflected on the years they have spent together.
She said she reminded him of her calm and respectful nature throughout their relationship, while also making it clear that she could not be expected to endure situations that could negatively affect her wellbeing.
“I told him that I have always been a humble woman, but there are limits to what a person can tolerate. I cannot do certain things that may cost me my life.”
Florence also hinted at undisclosed issues concerning Bishop Obinim, suggesting that she has chosen to remain silent about certain matters for the sake of peace.
“If I choose to speak about certain things that concern me about Bishop’s life, it would not be pleasant. There are things I am entitled to that would give me peace of mind, but if I am denied them, I simply stay quiet. If I need to buy or rent them myself, I go ahead and do so.”
Despite the difficulties, Florence appealed to members of Bishop Obinim’s church and his junior pastors to pray for him, saying the situation within their marriage had become increasingly troubling.
