A Ghanaian football fan dubbed the “Juju Man” has become one of the unexpected stars of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after his appearance during the Black Stars’ matches against Panama and England sparked a flood of hilarious reactions online.
Dressed like a traditional fetish priest and repeatedly blowing white powder into the air from the stands, the supporter has caught the attention of fans, commentators and even England supporters, many of whom jokingly suggested he was performing “juju” to help Ghana’s cause.
The now-viral fan was first spotted during Ghana’s 1-0 victory over Panama and made another appearance during the Black Stars’ goalless draw with England in Boston on Tuesday, June 23.
His antics quickly became a talking point among supporters inside the stadium, with several English fans seen filming him and sharing videos on social media.
One amused England supporter joked, “Ghana have just put juju on us in the stadium,” while another warned fellow fans, “Don’t argue with the juju guy.”
The jokes did not stop in the stands. During the match, England captain Harry Kane missed a scoring opportunity, prompting one commentator to humourously remark, “Kane missed, maybe the juju guy was right.”
Although there is no indication that the supporter was doing anything beyond entertaining fellow fans and backing his country in his own unique way, his presence has become one of the most talked-about fan moments of Ghana’s World Cup campaign so far.
With Ghana yet to concede in the presence of the now-famous “Juju Man,” social media users have continued to jokingly credit him for the Black Stars’ resilience, turning him into a viral sensation and a symbol of the team’s growing World Cup momentum.
