Canadian rapper Drake has won $1 million after correctly predicting Canada’s victory over South Africa in their FIFA World Cup Round of 32 clash.
Canada booked their place in the Round of 16 with a 1-0 win over South Africa on Sunday, June 28, securing Drake’s seven-figure payout from a bet he had placed before kick-off.
Ahead of the match, the Grammy-winning rapper shared a screenshot of his wager on social media, revealing he had backed his home country to defeat South Africa.

He also joked that he had “never lost faith” in the Canadian national team.
The win sees Canada advance to the Round of 16, where they will face the winner of the Netherlands-Morocco fixture.
