Dancehall musician Stonebwoy has recounted how his wife, Dr Louisa Satekla, was stabbed during his 2017 Ashaiman to the World event while she was pregnant with their daughter.
Speaking in a video sighted by GhanaWeekend, Stonebwoy reflected on the dangers artistes face during live performances, revealing that the incident occurred as he was performing on stage.
According to the musician, Dr Louisa was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but he remained on stage to complete the performance before going to see her.
“They cut my wife with a knife. Till today, I’ve been talking about the hazards on the job. The fans were there… what could I do? They carried her to the hospital, and I stayed there and performed the whole show before I went to see her.
“At that time, she was pregnant with my daughter, you understand? And that is just an example of the things we go through as people who dedicate ourselves to serving others.”
The award-winning artiste made the remarks while discussing the risks associated with performing before large crowds and the sacrifices entertainers sometimes make while carrying out their professional responsibilities.
