Ghanaian-American R&B singer James Ghartey has reunited with Felivian, the model who starred as the lead vixen in the music video for his hit song My Lady, 16 years after the visuals captured the hearts of fans.
The emotional reunion comes after Felivian, who recently spoke publicly about her mental health struggles, re-emerged following years away from the entertainment spotlight.
Sharing a video of their reunion, Ghartey revealed that fans had consistently urged him to find the woman who became synonymous with one of his most memorable music videos.
“People always send me messages. They keep talking about, ‘J., you have to search for the girl.’ We heard your messages… We came here. I found you,” he said.
The singer also reflected on one of the creative decisions that made the “My Lady” video stand out, explaining that the team opted for a natural look instead of a glamorous makeover to make the character more relatable.
“We wanted all the kids who are in school… to be able to relate to the model. That was what made it so fantastic because people could relate to her,” Ghartey recalled.
Felivian expressed gratitude to fans for their unwavering support, revealing that their encouragement inspired Ghartey to travel from Accra to reunite with her in Tamale.
“The impact, the words you said, actually motivated him… to fly all over from Tamale to Accra. He did it all because of the love you have for me,” she said.
She also urged fans to continue supporting Ghartey’s music while extending the same love to her as she embarks on a new chapter.
