Stonebwoy has responded to claims made by his long-time rival Shatta Wale, dismissing the dancehall artiste’s remarks and accusing him of lying.
The response comes hours after a teaser of The Honest Bunch Podcast surfaced online, in which Shatta Wale made several claims about his relationship with the Afro-dancehall star, including alleging that Stonebwoy once called him “daddy” and that “my spirit is too big for him.”
Reacting on social media, Stonebwoy shared a photo from the last time the two musicians met publicly at the Black Stars’ FIFA World Cup fundraising event, where they were seen embracing.
Accompanying the image, the BHIM Nation president wrote: “The last time you saw me, you hugged me like an obsessed woman. Aren’t you tired of lying?”
The post appeared to challenge Shatta Wale’s comments, suggesting the cordial embrace captured in the photograph contradicts the narrative presented in the podcast teaser.
Shatta Wale, in the teaser, had claimed Stonebwoy looked up to him in the early stages of his career before their relationship changed following Stonebwoy’s rise in the music industry.
He also alleged that Stonebwoy could not face him because “my spirit is too big for him” and suggested the artiste harbours resentment towards veteran reggae and dancehall musician Samini.
Stonebwoy’s latest post has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with fans of both artistes weighing in on the latest chapter of their long-running rivalry.
Neither artiste has indicated whether they intend to address the matter further.
