Dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has broken his silence after his much-anticipated ShattaFest UK event was cancelled following police intervention over safety concerns.
The event was called off after the venue reportedly exceeded its approved capacity, with UK police stepping in to prevent further risk following a stampede.
In a Facebook post sighted by GhanaWeekend on Sunday, August 2, Shatta Wale described the development as “part of God’s plan” and a “wake-up call to the world.”
“Whatever happened yesterday was part of God’s plan. It was a wake-up call to the world. Study Shatta Wale and you’ll see. After the storm comes the calm.
“Once again, I am sorry for the situation the fans got themselves into. In all we say, ‘GOD IS HERE.”
Shatta Wale also assured his UK fans that he would return, concluding his message with: “Agbee, tell them say we coming. #4LYFIS4LYF.”
