President John Dramani Mahama has shared a lesson from his 34-year marriage to First Lady Lordina Mahama, recounting how he learnt that some arguments with women are difficult to win.
Speaking during the Men’s Ministry Day celebration at the Ringway Gospel Centre Assemblies of God on Sunday, August 2, President Mahama recalled a disagreement with Mrs Mahama during their 30th wedding anniversary celebrations over who had done more to sustain their marriage.
He said a friend who listened to their exchange advised him to give up the argument.

“This argument, you can never win it,” President Mahama quoted his friend as telling him.
President Mahama said the experience reminded him of the need for patience and understanding in marriage, urging couples to treat their spouses with love and respect.
“Sometimes, you have to treat your spouses with respect and big dignity,” he told the congregation, adding that how couples relate to each other reflects their faith and the values they pass on to their children.
