Songstress Wendy Shay has disclosed that she blacked out after her performance at the 7th annual Ghana Music Awards USA and had to be rushed to the hospital.
In a video sighted by GhanaWeekend on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, Wendy Shay disclosed that she was unable to receive her Artiste of the Year plaque on stage because of the incident.
“After my performance, I blacked out and I had to be rushed to the hospital,” she said, adding that she is still recovering.
Wendy Shay expressed gratitude to her fans, family and the Ghana Music Awards USA organisers, as well as those who assisted her after she collapsed.
The awards ceremony was held on August 8, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency in Princeton, New Jersey.
