Sarkodie has responded to Stonebwoy’s comments about his recent message to SarkNation, denying that he ever said artistes should “play along” with situations as long as it benefits them.
Sarkodie said Stonebwoy’s interpretation of their private conversation was inaccurate and questioned why the dancehall artiste connected his social media post to himself.
“A lot to unpack here, but first things first, there’s no need to say something I never said,” Sarkodie stated in a post on X.
His response follows Stonebwoy’s earlier reaction to Sarkodie’s advice to members of SarkNation, in which Stonebwoy questioned the principles behind the rapper’s message and concluded that “without principle, advice is an opinion.”
Sarkodie said the first question he asked Stonebwoy when they spoke on the phone was, “What is your problem?” He added that if Stonebwoy had interpreted the post as being directed at him, that should indicate how he felt about the broader situation.
The rapper insisted that he had never made a social media post intended to shade Stonebwoy and said he does not engage with interpretations created by fans.
According to Sarkodie, he only decided to respond because the latest comments came directly from Stonebwoy.
He further explained that during their phone conversation, he told Stonebwoy that he did not have to forgive or forget anyone if he did not want to, but also could not dictate how other people chose to deal with situations.
Sarkodie said the two artistes may share the common objective of winning together where possible but acknowledged that they do not necessarily have to approach situations in the same way.
“There are things I find easy to let slide, and there are things I feel I need to react to. We’re not all the same, and I’m okay with that,” he said.
Sarkodie also pointed to his relationship with Stonebwoy as evidence that he had no personal issue with him, noting that he was the one who called Stonebwoy and invited him to his Rapperholic show.
He added that although Stonebwoy associates with people who have previously disrespected him, he has never assumed that such associations mean Stonebwoy supports their actions.
Sarkodie further claimed that this was not the first time Stonebwoy had expressed similar concerns, saying he had repeatedly reached out privately to resolve such issues rather than addressing them publicly.
He maintained that he had continued to support Stonebwoy’s career, including congratulating him on major milestones and reaching out about potential joint shows.
Sarkodie therefore rejected what he described as an attempt to twist his words and give them meanings he did not intend.
“My G, you don’t need to fck with me. I’m pretty sure I add no value to your life to even worry about me,” Sarkodie concluded.

The first thing I asked you when we got on that call, and I still want to ask, is “What is your problem?” If, for any reason,… https://t.co/G5ZsDYYj1p
