Singer Gyakie has clarified her viral “once it gets inside, you’ll feel it” comment on X, explaining that the statement was a reference to the emotional experience of listening to music.
Speaking at the recent OkayAfrica Culture Cafe held at Jambo Spaces in Accra, Gyakie explained that her comment was not intended to carry any suggestive meaning but was simply about how music makes listeners feel.
According to the singer, she was using the idea of music being “injected” into someone to describe the feeling music can create.
“If you put the record player in there, you’re gonna hear the music and you’re gonna feel it. So it was me talking about music being injected and I am feeling good,” she said.
The comment had attracted attention on X, with some users interpreting the wording differently.
Beyond the clarification, Gyakie also disclosed that she is preparing for a busy end to the year, with a new live show and an upcoming EP in the works.
She disclosed that she will hold a show in December, although the date is yet to be announced.
“I’m so happy that all this is going to happen this year because it’s been a long time coming. The show is happening this December. We are here to announce the dates but be on the lookout because I’m going to announce the dates soon,” she said.
Gyakie further announced that a new EP is also on the way, alongside a single which she says will be released “very, very soon.”
The upcoming releases will add to the singer’s growing body of work as she prepares to close the year with new music and a major live event.
