Rapper Amerado has sparked a heated conversation online after a video of his interaction with an upcoming artiste went viral.
In the video, the upcoming musician was sharing his struggles in the industry, particularly about not having money to afford quality studio sound. But Amerado’s response caught many off guard.
“What are you using quality sound for?” Amerado asked.
The Kweku Ananse hitmaker explained that when he started music, he wasn’t focused on perfect studio quality. He was focused on his truth and his message. According to him, he was just doing demos upon demos.
His advice to the young artiste was simple: you don’t need quality sound right now, you just need to voice out your truth.
The video has since generated mixed reactions online.
Some social media users have bashed Amerado, saying his advice was wrong and discouraging. They argue that in 2026, quality is non-negotiable and that poor sound can make people skip a good song no matter how powerful the message is.
Others, however, say they understand exactly where Amerado is coming from. They believe his point was about not letting perfection stop you from starting, that content and authenticity should come before expensive production, especially when you are just building your name.
For many upcoming artistes in Ghana, studio cost is a real struggle, and Amerado’s comment has opened up a bigger conversation: Should you wait till you can afford the best sound, or should you start with what you have and let your truth speak?
