Temi Nkem has been crowned winner of the 11th season of Big Brother Naija after emerging as the housemate with the highest public vote at Sunday night’s grand finale.
Her victory earned her 25.87 per cent of the votes cast by viewers across Nigeria and other parts of Africa, edging out Aikou, who finished as the first runner-up with 23.68 per cent.
Sheba placed third with 9.80 per cent, taking the second runner-up position.
Host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced Temi Nkem as the winner during the finale on October 4, bringing weeks of nominations, tasks, evictions and intense competition to a close.
As the winner, Temi takes home a prize package valued at ₦160 million, comprising ₦90 million in cash, a brand-new SUV and other sponsored prizes.
The cash prize was reduced from the initial ₦100 million after ₦10 million was allocated to the season’s Most Influential Player of the Week (MIPOW) fund.
The season opened with 24 housemates, with the number gradually reduced through weekly evictions until nine contestants made it to the final night.
The finalists were Temi Nkem, Barry, Tram, Oyin, Flora, Sheba, Aikou, Ricky and Bluethopia.
Barry was the first finalist to exit during the finale, followed by Oyin, Ricky and Flora as the competition entered its final stages.
Temi’s victory makes her the fifth woman to win the Big Brother Naija title, adding her name to the growing list of female housemates who have previously claimed the reality show’s ultimate prize.
