The Ghana Police Service has disclosed that the husband of Ghanaian fashion icon and actress Rosemond Akua Adobea, popularly known as Nana Akua Addo, is expected to appear before court after being arrested over allegations of domestic abuse.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said that Harold Norman was arrested on August 27, 2026, after Nana Akua Addo petitioned the CID Director-General, alleging that her husband had subjected her to “physical, emotional and economic abuse.”
The arrest followed the circulation of videos on social media purportedly showing Nana Akua Addo being physically abused by her husband, with one of the videos also allegedly showing their daughter being hit.
The husband has also reportedly accused Nana Akua Addo of abusing him.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, October 7, the CID disclosed that the couple had previously come to the attention of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Lakeside and Ministries Police Stations in July 2026.
The Police explained that, following the petition, Harold Norman was arrested and a caution statement was obtained from him before he was granted police enquiry bail with two sureties on August 29, while investigations continued.
“He was due to be put before court today,” the Police said, adding that his lawyer notified them that “his client had been admitted at the hospital and was therefore unable to appear before the court as had been scheduled.”
The CID indicated that investigators from DOVVSU have visited the hospital to verify the claim and are monitoring the situation “to ensure he is arraigned immediately upon discharge.”
Meanwhile, the Police revealed that they are working with the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection to provide social welfare services for Nana Akua Addo and her children.
“The Ghana Police Service remains committed to protecting victims of domestic violence and ensuring that complaints brought before the Service are investigated professionally and fairly,” the statement added.
