Rapper Okese1 has announced that he is scrapping the name and movement that made him a household name, citing his strong faith in God.
In a tweet that has since gone viral, the “Yie Yie” hitmaker disclosed why he had to kill what he calls one of the biggest movements in the country.
No More Amotia Geng ! That would have been one of the Biggest Movement in the country but it was soooo Blaspheming to God. And as someone who believes in God sooo much I had to stop putting it on the Map ! …. NO OTHER REASON …. ON GOD!

Amotia is the Twi word for midget/short person.
Okese1, born Afrane Frank, founded Amotia Geng with his Kumasi friends as a brotherhood for short, confident, and flashy guys who were taking over the streets.
The Amotia name became an identity, a fanbase, and even a lifestyle brand after his breakout in 2020 with “Yie Yie.”
Okese1 did not explain in detail the reasons for his breakaway, but fans believe the name “Amotia,” which was used to glorify small gods/dwarfs/spiritual charms in his songs and persona, may conflict with his renewed Christian faith.
For years, Okese1 branded himself around “Amotia” spiritual power and wealth. Now, as someone who says he believes in God, he feels it is inappropriate to keep projecting it.
