Singer Sista Afia has issued an apology to Stonebwoy and his team after her public request for a collaboration sparked backlash.
It all started when Sista Afia posted her new song ‘BOSSIT’ and said a verse from Stonebwoy would make it massive. She then asked fans to help tag Stonebwoy repeatedly until he noticed.
Some fans jumped on it and started tagging the BHIM Nation president.
But a section of BHIM fans did not take it lightly. They called her approach disrespectful, questioning why she didn’t go through the official channels.
Some also asked what happened to the earlier song she recorded with Stonebwoy. Why doesn’t she go through that same channel to get another verse instead of tagging him publicly?
The criticism grew, with some suggesting she was using Stonebwoy’s name for publicity.
Just a day after the post, Sista Afia came out to clarify and apologise.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she wrote: “If my approach made Stonebwoy, his team, or anyone feel disrespected, I sincerely apologise. That was never my intention, and I would never intentionally disrespect someone I have so much admiration for.”
“Let’s not turn a simple request for a collaboration into a narrative of disrespect. There was no bad blood, no shade, and no hidden agenda. Just an artist expressing interest in making music with another artist.”
