Dancehall star Stonebwoy has been tapped for the official soundtrack of the forthcoming Hollywood action comedy Boyz Trip, which is set for a global cinema release in 2027.
The multiple award-winning artiste features on ‘Wrong Toes’, a cross-border collaboration that unites Stonebwoy with US singer Mashanda Faust and Atlanta-based group Hero The Band, fusing African and American sounds.
The Boyz Trip project – which includes the feature film, its original soundtrack and the Wrong Toes video – is executive produced by Alan Key and Kyle Scott, co-founders of KeyScott Entertainment based in Brisbane, Australia.
The idea for Wrong Toes was conceived by Alan Key, who provided the initial creative vision for both the song and video. Kyle Scott then drove the creative development and execution, working closely with Mashanda Faust to shape its musical direction and presentation.
Co-written by Alan Key and Faten El Sayed, Wrong Toes grew into an international record linking talents from Ghana and the US.
The official music video was recently shot at Cape Town Film Studios in South Africa, under the direction of two-time award-winning creative director Warren Gray.
Stonebwoy’s involvement is another major platform for Ghanaian music on the world stage. Known for his signature blend of Afrobeats, reggae and dancehall, he brings his distinct sound to a soundtrack built to resonate with audiences in Africa, North America, Europe and Australia.
The collaboration with Faust and Hero The Band further highlights the deepening creative ties between the African and American music and film industries.
Wrong Toes forms part of a slate of original songs being created for the Boyz Trip soundtrack via KeyScott Entertainment’s new music division, which focuses on original film scores, music publishing, artist development and global collaborations.
