Head of Public Relations for Stonebwoy, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, has criticised rapper Sarkodie for reportedly saying he would repost a controversial video involving amputees if given another opportunity.
Speaking to DJ Slim on Class FM on October 26, Vida described the reported remarks as irresponsible and challenged Sarkodie to repost the video.
“I dare him; he should post it again.”
Sarkodie had reportedly made the comments during an interview with Serwaa Amihere, where he indicated that he would share the video again if given another chance.
Although Vida said she initially understood why the rapper might have overlooked the issue, she argued that his response failed to adequately consider the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in Ghana.
She highlighted the discrimination and limited accessibility people with disabilities continue to experience, particularly at entertainment venues across the country.
Vida commended Stonebwoy for drawing attention to these challenges, especially those affecting the Black Challenge, Ghana’s national amputee football team.
She noted that Stonebwoy’s concerts provide designated spaces for patrons with disabilities, including wheelchair users, allowing them to enjoy performances alongside other fans.
The PR executive further urged the public to be mindful of their words and actions, stressing that anyone could become disabled through an accident or other unforeseen circumstances.
