Ghanaian musician, Ofori Amponsah who gave his life to Christ and became a man of God has not had it easy since the transitioning.
He has been on the chopping board ore often especially because of the kind of music he does after becoming a Christian.
He, however, does not agree with the criticisms. In his defence, he said his songs are better than some gospel songs which he describes as ‘silly’.
“A Gospel song with lyrics such as ‘God why have you created me this way?’ and ‘I am suffering’ is such a silly song. If I talk about loving your wife and staying faithful to her I believe I am preaching something better” he stated.
“God is love and there is nothing wrong with singing love songs. I reflected upon all the positive things my love songs have accomplished and decided to come back and continue giving Ghanaians great love songs” he further explained.
The singer who has been tagged ‘Alewa’ Pastor especially because of his song titled ‘Alewa’ and claims that he actually was not called by God and that he chose to be a pastor to enrich himself, took a swipe at the church, saying there are actually hypocrites in the church.
“the church is full of hypocrites and the men of God are into all sorts of things. If you look at what is going on in the church you will not even go to church or worship God”.
Meanwhile, he says his relationship with God is still intact and that it is known to God.
“It is only God who knows the heart and no one can judge me. I know I am very close to God and worship Him wholeheartedly,” he told Kwaku Manu on Aggressive Interview.
