Former Black Avenue Music signee Dahlin Gage has revealed on Zylofon FM that he has never picked commercial vehicle since he moved to Ghana 7 years ago.
“Me I’ve never picked ‘trotro’ before. I didn’t grow up in Ghana but I came 7 years ago. I came for Uni, Central University,” he said.
He narrated a situation where he was in a taxi and witnessed the struggle people went through to board commercial vehicles in the capital of Ghana.
He said the incident inspired him to do his new song, ‘sweet Accra’ which talks about some nice places and experiences in Accra.
“And the stress of how like when I was in the taxi I saw this old lady, I think she was running for the trotro and some man was running the way the man bashed her like, push like I saw people struggling to enter in the trotro like ah charlie this life is hard o and it was just like vibe and I created a chorus like sweet Accra but I wanted somebody to work with and most of the time I used to work with Guilty Beats,” he said.
“but that time he was busy with Mr Eazi’s mixtape so he couldn’t get time and I didn’t have anybody in mind that can play that kind of vibe that I want so, I met this guy called C Jay beats, the guy that produced it, I sent him the chorus and I told him Charlie adey wan do something like when listening to the beat and chorus it will let you miss Accra and Ghana”.
