What can’t Idris Elba do?

The actor and DJ has taken a step into the world of movie directors and his first movie, Yardie, will be out in March.

The crime drama is set in London and Kingston.

It will premiere at the 2018 edition of the Sundance Film Festival and then be released in theatres on March 15. Elba directed and executive produced the film, with Brock Norman Brock and Martin Stellman adapting the script from Victor Headley’s cult novel which goes by the same name.

“It falls in line with a very specific Afro Caribbean experience by way of Kingston, Jamaica and east London but plays right into the heart of the universal human experience of loss and trauma,” Elba told the Hollywood report.
