After a 5-year hiatus, one of Nigeria’s finest dancehall/ragga and afrobeat artistes Timaya has released his new project.
The ‘Chulo Vibes’ EP is an entertaining mix of rhythms and messages that provide a very enjoyable easy listening experience within nine tracks.
Most notable about the compilation is how Timaya stays true to the sound we know and love, an eclectic balance of afrobeat, dancehall and reggae.
According to Timaya: ‘Chulo Vibes’ is a collection of music that best defines him.
“I am all about good energy; love, positive living, being thankful always, and you can hear all this on, not just the EP, but all my songs,” he said.
The nine track EP features fellow Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, Tanzanian act, Alikiba, and Machel Montano from Trinidad & Tobago.
Prior to the release of the EP, Timaya dropped the first single this year called ‘Balance’ with great visuals. The song is another classic Timaya feel-good song, made for every playlist – traffic, club nights, family gatherings etc.
Listening to the EP, one would notice that ‘Balance’ was a great entree to a solid collection of songs Timaya’s fans have been waiting for.
With this new EP he once again asserts his stance as a certified hitmaker. The ‘Chulo Vibes EP’ is available in all digital stores.
