The live show marked the premiere of the show’s fourth edition and Nigerians all over the world were privy to the excitement on stage live on DStv & GOtv.
Speaking on the season, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu also used the platform to announce the theme for the season tagged “Pepper Dem”.
Twenty-one new housemates for the season were unveiled at the launch along with the surprise announcement that the show has been extended by one extra week taking the new season to 99 days in total!
The new housemates bound for BBNaija household-name stardom include: Seyi, Esther, Ella, Frodd, Omashola, Avala, Khafi, Ike, Tuoyo, Kimoprah, Isilomo, Jackye, Khafi, Nelson, Sir Dee, Thelma, Gedoni, Diane, Mercy, Tacha, Mike and Jeff.
The new housemates have an array of exciting career backgrounds including a part-time stripper to a Lawyer and a music video vixen.
Along with the riveting careers, BBNaija viewers on DStv & GOtv were treated to high-energy performances from award-winning artists Teni and Burna Boy with DJ Neptune entertaining the crowd as the night’s resident DJ.
Viewers were given a truly Nigerian musical experience with Burna Boys’ hits like ‘Dangote’, ‘On the low’ and ‘Killin dem’’. One of the major highlights of the night includes Teni’s performance was of her hit song ‘Uyo Meyo’ which had fans hyped as they welcomed more housemates.
Speaking on the return of the highly anticipated reality show, here’s what Cecil Sunkwa Mills, Managing Director MultiChoice Ghana had to say, “We’re proud of the work everyone has delivered to bring this show to viewers’ television screens and devices. Our customers are in for a treat and this season.”
In the run up to the start of the show, MultiChoice Ghana gave two Ghanaian journalist Doreen Avio and Nana Adwoa Amofa Osei from the Multimedia Group and EIB Network respectively the opportunity to spend a week in Lagos; to experience the preparations for the live show and topped it off with a night’s stay in the Big Brother house.
Speaking after the night in the Big Brother House Doreen Avio said, “It was fun meeting executives at the Multichoice office here in Nigeria and other journalist from Africa, it was all laughter as though we have known each other all years, great people here, thanks so much DStv Ghana.”
The return of the show has definitely set off a new level of loyalty and fans cannot wait for all the inevitable drama.
