After severing his music business relationship with Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music some months ago, Kelvynby says he is not planning on getting signed onto any record label in Ghana again.
According to him, he is not impressed with how record labels in Ghana operate.
“The place that we signed [Burniton Music], it didn’t go well so I don’t really believe in signing for a record label in Ghana anymore,” he told Sammy Flex on his online TV programme, Showbiz Daily.
He believes that the labels in Ghana revel in taking glory for what they do for artistes than invest in their talents.
“The international record labels do the work so the artiste reaps its benefits but in Ghana, they want the ‘fans’ more than the real work,” he stated.
Even though he claims he is not officially signed onto Black Sidi’s Black Arm Entertainment record label, he said he does a lot of things for him, including the booking of shows and footing his projects – something he has been doing since they were both under Burniton Music.
Meanwhile, he says if Black Sidi wants to sign him, he won’t hesitate to do so, stressing that if he had been signed onto Black Sidi’s record label when he left Stonebwoy’s, people would have concluded the move was the reason for the cessation of his contract with Burniton Music.
Black Sidi was Kelvynboy’s manager while at Burniton Music.
Last year, he released the T.I.M.E. EP which has songs such as ‘On Your Door,’ ‘Mea’ (feat. Joey B), ‘Nana Ama’ (feat. Suzz Blaq), ‘Loko’ (feat. Medikal), ‘Woara’ (feat. Damaris Joi) and ‘Anything’ (feat. KiDi).
He has currently released ‘MoMo’ which features Darkovibes and Mugeez of R2Bes fame.
