The Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said that he is impressed with how far the creative industry has come.
He made this statement in an Instagram Live chat with Stonebwoy on Sunday, May 17, 2020, when Stonebwoy asked him for his general assessment of the music industry.
“We’ve come very far. If I look at how the industry was when I was a bit younger and today how many of you guys are using technology and are even now going global is impressive what many of you are doing; are blowing my mind,” he said.
“I was listening to Kidi’s enjoyment and I was like charley the boys are doing music and are doing well and we have to find a way by which we can support you guys make a lot of value or capture a lot of value out of it and spread your wings globally a bit more,” he also noted.
He, therefore, urged that artistes should be encouraged to not only depend on shows especially in this day where the pandemic has forced the ‘normal’ life to be put on hold.
“One of the things I think we need to do is that we need to encourage you guys to also diversify your revenue portfolio. There are a lot of our artists who are very reliant on shows,” he said.
