The Minister of Tourism and Arts and Culture, Barbara Oteng Gyasi, has explained that entertainment events fall under the President’s guidelines on the easing of restrictions on public gatherings.
She mentioned that by the mention conferences, workshops and other social events, the President’s directive included showbiz events that fall within this description.
“Under conferences, we also include award ceremonies,” she noted.
She, however, reiterated that organisers of such showbiz events must ensure a ‘no mask, no entry’ policy and other COVID-19 precaution protocols at the venue.
She said the organisers of events must also use hand sanitizers frequently and everyone at the venue must observe strict social distancing protocols.
The Minister further indicated that attendees of such entertainment events should not be more than 50% of the capacity of the venue.
