The former manager of Sarkodie and broadcaster at Joy FM, Sammy Forson has responded to Asem’s continuous bashing of Sarkodie.
In one of his recent tweets, Asem wrote that the artwork of Sarkodie’s ‘Brown Paper Bag’ which has President Akufo-Addo, Donald Trump, and other political figures is disrespectful.
“That artwork is very disrespectful and he must retract and apologize. On top of that too the song be yawa. Even If the song was well written and profound it will still be disrespectful but it’s wack. M.anifest verse was good but the rest all be borla rap nyansa bia nnim. ASEM,” he wrote.
This comes after Asem had ridiculed Sarkodie’s verse on his latest song ‘Brown Paper Bag’ which features M.anifest. In that post, Asem said Sarkodie’s verse was senseless and that he must learn how to tackle political issues in rap.
“Manifests verse though. Fire. As for the other guy so so nonfa eiii wey kind matter too be this, why ebey by force? Conscious and social-political rap is not for everyone see how Mdot lash am for ein own track top. Please he should stick to Azonto,” he wrote.
Responding to Asem on Twitter, Sammy Forson told him he was getting extreme with his backlash at Sarkodie.
“On the real bro, with all due respect, you dey over-do this thing. The music space is big enough 4 everyone. U have ur legacy as Asem. Sark has built his. We ain’t in normal times & music can heal, encourage & preach change. 2pac, Bob Marley did it. Sark is on it & u can too bro.”
It is not really clear what Sarkodie has done to Asem to merit the kind of salvos he has been throwing at him but for the past few months, the ‘Give Me Blow’ rapper who is currently in the USA had been hitting hard at Sarkodie.
Sarkodie did a song to silence his critics and a few months ago, and it could be felt Asem was duly addressed.
Will Sarkodie be pushed to reply Asem again? We live to see.
