Afrobeats artiste Stonebwoy has said the plaque of the award he won at Vodafone Music Awards in 2019 is still at home.
Stonebwoy won the Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year 2019, making it five years in a row but due to the scuffle between him and Shatta Wale on the night, the Board of VGMA stripped both acts of the awards and titles they won on the night.
The board further asked them to return the plaques in their possession after the titles were stripped.
However, it is clear Stonebwoy did not do as expected of him.
In an interview on UTV June 27, 2020, Nana Ama McBrown asked Stonebwoy why he is still keeping the plaque and if he has not heard the order to return it.
“No one came for it… We heard it on the radio that they would strip us of the titles,” he replied.
“It’s not as if I didn’t take it (the order) seriously. In their care, it’s safe, with me, it’s still safe (referring to the plaque),” he explained.
