Talent manager George Britton has refuted claims that he ever reached out to musician Mzvee to manage her.
George who served as a pundit during a show on Happy FM, noted that MzVee’s come back to the music scene was weak.
Reacting to the comment on in an interview on Starr FM, MzVee stated that George is not only weak, but he also reached out to her recently to manage her.
She sees no reason why he should take the offer when he has not been able to manage the two known artistes that he signed; in the past, Keche and now Camidoh.
“I’m surprised because he tried to work with me just recently … I mean he’s had two artistes and he’s not been able to do much for them; Camidoh is such a talented musician,” Mzvee said.
But in an interview with Zion Felix on the ‘Z News’, George says he is shocked about the revelation because he does not remember reaching out to want to work with her.
“When I heard that, I was shocked because I don’t remember saying anything like that… I don’t know who I discussed with that I wanted to manage her (Mzvee),” he said adding that he can only recollect memories of asking a friend close to Mzvee (Michael) to send him Mzvee related materials for promotion.
According to him, the media blew his comment out of proportion and that he meant good for the Mzvee brand, taking into consideration the kind of standard she set over the years.
When he was asked if he still stands by his comment that her comeback is weak, he noted, “Yes, it is the bitter truth because Mzvee set a certain standard and it might take time for her to get to that standard again so if she believes it’ll take time for her to get to that standard, that means what I’m saying is not bad.
“When I say her comeback is weak, it does not mean she is a bad artiste herself. It doesn’t mean she has failed. Maybe the expectation is high.”
He also advised that she puts more effort into producing good songs and promoting them like she does the videos since her comeback.
