Talent manager George Mensah Britton has disclosed that managing music duo Keche was not all rosy despite giving his best.
His comment comes on the back of people questioning his managing skills every now and then.
Some months back, George had an issue with Edem for asserting that the rapper could do better in sprucing up his brand. It led to Edem questioning how far George took Keche’s career.
In a recent interview on Starr FM, MzVee also mentioned the same thing because George referred to her comeback as a weak one.
Reacting to the comments in an interview with Zion Felix on ‘Z News’, he noted that he did everything possible and that he left them in good hands.
“I worked with Keche since 2014 and their first song that became a hit is ‘Diabetes’. With Keche, there wasn’t any platform in Ghana with the exception of Ghana Music Awards; we didn’t perform on the main event. We performed on every show. We were out, performing in other countries. I mean we had a good time. Where I wanted to take them, I wanted us to focus on Africa more. It got to a time that was where the focus was but the strength wasn’t there too much,” he recounted.
When Zion Felix asked for clarification on whether he meant he made so much impact on their career, he replied, “When I was working with Keche, it was just me and this was a young man who was equally building his career. I had to put my life on hold to support Keche right from 2014… It wasn’t easy. It was just for me and my brothers but I gave my all. There were times that we went through hard times, we went through good times: there were times that we laughed, there were times that we didn’t laugh. It doesn’t mean that I and Keche were bad throughout.”
Keche is now managed by Joana Gyan who got married to Keche Andrew on November 30, 2019.
Touching on their new management, George noted that the group are in good hands.
