Mzbel’s lawyer, James Abiaduka has confirmed that she was actually invited to the police station yesterday as reports had it.
He noted that after her statement was taken, she was granted bail without being charged.
According to him, the police have asked the parties involved, Mzbel and Stacy Amoateng to come back this afternoon without their lawyers.
Mzbel was reported to the Greater Accra Regional Police Command by television presenter, Stacy Amoateng for making a claim about her health status.
The lawyer confirmed that Mzbel made the comment based on the information prophet Nigel Gaisie gave her concerning Stacy and other friends.
Speaking to ghanaweeekend.com in an interview, the lawyer said: “It looks as if the police themselves want the matter to go in a different direction altogether so they are suggesting that if it is possible the parties should not come with their lawyers” but when asked if Mzbel was going to go alone, he said a lawyer would accompany her.
Touching on the legal implications, he said, “The police have the right as part of their duties to invite you to the police station when somebody makes a complaint about you…We’ve not seen any charges yet. She hasn’t been charged and every charge has ingredients that you have to prove to make your case successful so let’s wait and see if the police will charge her”.
