During elections seasons like this, it is not strange to see celebrities publicly endorse political parties.
This year, a lot of celebrities have come out to lend support to some political parties.
For the NPP, there are celebrities like Kalybos, General Ntatea, Empress Gifty, Too Sweet Annan, Prince David Osei, Lucky Mensah, Agya Koo, among others.
The NDC also has MzBel, Rex Omar, Abu Sadiq, and others.
But, for most of these endorsements, there is a price to pay. The politicians give offers to these celebrities to help drum home their messages.
However, Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, well known as Shatta Wale, says he can’t be bought by any political party.
He told Dave Hammer on Hello FM that he is not interested in campaigning for any political party because he has a lot of godfathers who are active politicians.
Again, he noted that even if he wants to do it, they can’t pay him because he is too expensive.
“If they want to convince me to do it, they have to come to my terms… Political parties are not my type of thing…I so expensive for a political party; they can’t pay me….if they want to approach me; it’s going to be a very difficult thing. If they want to convince me to do it they have to come to my terms but it’s not my thing,” he said.
About a week ago, Samini publicly endorsed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and even composed a song for them.
