Sefaji Abena Ameso, popularly known in the music industry as Sefa has expressed her disappointment in how women in the music industry are supposedly discriminated against.
In an interview on Citi97.3FM on the Traffic Avenue on Wednesday, she said that “Right now with the ladies, when it comes to shows and stuff, you don’t have a lot of ladies but there are instances where about four male artistes will be rapping on the same show and I think it doesn’t make sense, the discrimination with women has got me annoyed”. But I think it’s getting better, she added.
Her music career began when she got signed to Black Avenue Music about four years ago when Ghanaian rapper Desmond Kwesi Blackmore known in the industry as D-Black discovered her talents.
She mentioned that her journey in her career hasn’t been easy since it’s a male dominated industry but she is determined to push and try harder because every step of the journey makes it concrete.
She believes other musicians go through worse than she has been but her mum has always been there to encourage and support her dream.
She has twelve songs on her album.
