Ghanaian artiste, KiDi, is not happy with how the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey announced the winner of the Arts of the Year at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The Deputy Minister, while announcing gospel musician Diana Hamilton as the winner of the award, asked: “did KiDi say he’s gonna come back?” This was after KiDi had assured the audience that he was gonna come back for the Artiste of the Year award.
Responding to this in an Instagram live video, the ‘Golden Boy’ quipped: “Me and Mark Okraku-Mantey we are fighting. Because the way you announced the winner no dierr ebe some way.”
In the video, KiDi addressed his fans while playing Diana Hamilton’s ‘Adom’ in the background.
He has also tweeted a congratulatory message to the gospel artiste.
KiDi won four awards at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards: Afrobeats/Afropop Song, Afrobeats Artiste, Highlife Song (Enjoyment) and EP of the Year with ‘Blue’.
