On Friday, September 17, 2021, some of Ghana’s finest poets and creative artists will converge at the Accra City Hotel for ‘Mental Pictures V’.

The programme put together by poet and literary coach Nana Asaase will take the form of literary readings and cultural renditions.

Speaking to Kwaku David on Citi TV’s Breakfast Daily, Nana Asaase said the event took a break for six years, so he decided they have had “four rivers, they are meeting at a junction, culminating in a fifth,” which is dubbed ‘Confluence: the flute belongs to Mother.’

The programme will be held at 6 pm on Friday, September 17, 2021.

Apart from Nana Asaase, other artists performing at the event are Chief Moomen, Nii Saki (Roverman), Ewurabena, Yayra Xylophone, Terry, Emma Ofosua Donkor, and Mc Nii Mantse.

Dr Akumaa (School of Performing Arts), Daniel Kojo Delong, and Narkie Dowuona Ocran will also make a feature.

The programme will be tinged with fashion and art exhibition. Sally Torpey (Ghanaian International Fashion Designer, presenting snippets of ‘The Year Of Colour’s collection), Esther Kaki Caesar (Art Exhibition) will make an appearance.

Also supporting the programme are Legon Palmwine Band, Hashmullah (Special performance) and Dzuta Cultural troupe.

‘Mental Pictures V’ will be directed by Selasi Daphnies.

Tickets are selling for GHS 80 regular, GHS 120 for VIP, and GHS 150 for couples.

Born Philip Boakye Dua Oyinka, Nana Asaase has etched his name in Ghana’s entertainment industry as one of the brilliant poets the country has produced.

With a blend of English with Twi in his performances, Nana Asaase has performed at a lot of high-profile events in Ghana and abroad.
