The maiden edition of ‘The Fufu Party’ will be held on Saturday, the 20th of November, 2021 in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua.
The aim of this event is to promote our rich Ghanaian food, which is deeply embedded in our cultural heritage.
Speaking to Mr. Kwabena Bediako Antwi-Dako, the Chief Executive Officer of Wise Ink Concepts, he said, “the reason for choosing fufu is that it is arguably the most popular food across the country and beyond. The event also aims at making our local foods highly attractive to the youth. We must be proud of who we are and what we have as Ghanaians”.
From preparation to consumption, fufu is a fascinating meal. Made from either a double combination of cassava, plantain, cocoyam, or yam, it can be eaten with different types of soups.
The popularity and wide acceptance of fufu mean it is a local tourism booster.
The event will be characterised by the dishing out of free fufu only. The accompanying protein option of one’s choice will be purchased.
There cannot be a party without music and since we are promoting Ghana, Highlife music will definitely be present.
An assembly of some of Ghana’s finest Highlife musicians will be in action. Dada K.D, K.K Fosu, Kofi Nti, Dada Hafco, and Koo Ntakra will dish out some melodies and rhythms for the attendees. A host of public figures will also be present for the occasion.
