The New Nollywood Netflix film, ‘Tenants of the House’ has been launched in Ghana at the Goethe-Institut, Accra.
The film, based on a book by Dr. Wale Okediran tells the story of a young politician’s determination to settle a long-standing land dispute between two ethnic groups amid corruption, romance, and personal agendas.
Speaking to Ghana Weekend, Dr. Okediran said the story was inspired by his personal experience in the local politics of Nigeria, where he served as an elected member of the House of Representatives.
He said Netflix offers African film producers the opportunity to explore the global market with authentic stories which can best be told by Africans.
The 2-hour 12-minute romantic drama stars Yakubu Mohammed, Dele Odule, Rashida Lobbo, Tijani Faraga, Chris Ilwueha, Taiwo Hassan, Umar Gombe, Funky Mallam, Abiola Ogunowo, and Ghanaian actress, Joselyn Dumas.
