The second edition of the local food party, dubbed, Akple Festival, is scheduled to take place in Accra on Independence Day, March 6, 2022 at Mmofra Place, Dzorwulu.
Akple Festival is an annual food and music party to celebrate Ghana’s ‘Heritage Month’.
Speaking to Ghana Weekend, Team Lead for the organizers, BrandwithEchiri, Ebenezer Echiri-Mensah, said this year’s event will focus on drawing people, especially tourists, closer to the rich identity of the country.
After a silent 2021, we are happy to bring back your favourite food festival, this time with much more exciting content.
Given the peculiarity of the times we find ourselves, organizers and partners of the event have spent time carefully devising content that is indeed thrilling while adhering to all COVID -19 protocol.
He added that the theme for this year, ‘Party Hard’, will feature Adaha Dance Band; Ghana’s best dance band for the 2021. Edzordzinam Fafali Borborbor group will light up the place with non-stop borborbor.

This year’s edition will also introduce a wide array of vendors to serve our cherished revellers; from food, drinks, fashion and art.
Activities for the event include a food bazaar, exhibitions, music and others.
The maiden edition of the festival was held in March 2020. The second edition was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
